The Vision Behind Bunnyville
Rabbits have historically been a mainstay of small family farms and self-sufficient homesteads. Many historic heritage breeds are now endangered as farming trends modernized. At Barakah Heritage Farm, we integrated rabbits for their gentle companionship, space efficiency, and exceptional contribution to soil fertility through cold compost that can be added immediately to vegetable garden beds without burning roots.
We frequently welcomed young families and school-age visitors to the farm. For toddlers and young children, large goats could occasionally feel intimidating. Bunnyville was designed to create an enchanting, peaceful, and tactile space where young children could connect with animals at their own pace.
